This webinar is organized jointly by IOM, UNHCR, UNDP, UNESCO and the Issue-Based Coalition (IBC) on Human Mobility as part of the Road to COP30.
In anticipation of COP30 in Belém, Brazil, this session will explore the integration of human mobility (including migration, displacement and planned relocation) into climate policies and negotiations. It will highlight progress and gaps at the global and regional levels, identify opportunities for inclusive climate finance, and amplify the perspectives of affected populations to ensure that their voices inform national and international climate processes.
The event will bring together government representatives, academics, multilateral and regional development banks, and experts from UN agencies, fostering a comprehensive dialogue on solutions for human mobility in the context of climate change.
The discussion will be of particular relevance to UN agencies and Resident Coordinators in the Latin America and Caribbean region, government counterparts engaged in climate and migration policies, civil society organizations, and research institutions.
Simultaneous interpretation using live captions will be provided in English and Spanish.
