The Peer Support Group (PSG) of the Regional Collaborative Platform for Latin America and the Caribbean provides technical support to United Nations country teams for the development of three products and related design steps of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework cycle: 1) Roadmap; 2) full Common Country Analysis based on which the Cooperation Framework is to be designed; and 3) Cooperation Framework document. The PSG plays a critical role in the quality assurance of Common Country Analysis and Cooperation Frameworks by accompanying the Resident Coordinator/United Nations country team through the country planning process and finalization of these products.
The Peer Support Group functions as an interface between the country-led Cooperation Framework and the Regional Directors of the United Nations entities. It is an asset that contributes to enhancing the United Nations’s collective programmatic strategy on country and sub-regional issues. The PSG primarily functions as a strategic planning expert team that brings integrated, system-wide rather than “agency-specific” support to the Common Country Analysis/Cooperation Framework processes at the country level. It also flags needs and opportunities for additional technical and strategic support to the Regional Collaborative Platform for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Peer Support Group accompanies and assures the quality of the United Nations development system's strategic programming at the country level in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and in the context of regional development frameworks as applicable.
