Regional Interagency Webinar in Commemoration of International Youth Day

For 2022, with the theme of International Youth Day, “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages,” the goal is to amplify the message that action from all generations is needed to achieve the SDGs and leave no one behind. International Youth Day 2022 will also seek to raise awareness about certain obstacles to intergenerational solidarity, particularly age-based discrimination affecting both young people and older adults, which has harmful effects on society as a whole.

In commemoration of International Youth Day, a regional interagency webinar titled “Promoting Intergenerational Solidarity: Youth from Latin America and the Caribbean Building a More Resilient Region” will be held on August 16 at 2:00 PM (Panama time), reflecting this year’s theme, “Intergenerational solidarity: creating a world for all ages.”

The objective is to create a space that provides an opportunity for participants to exchange perspectives on the results of the “Second United Nations Survey on Youth in Latin America and the Caribbean in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic” from an intergenerational solidarity perspective, with the aim of developing responses that ensure a sustainable, peaceful, and inclusive recovery.
